Position/Role: Administrator: Disability and Special Needs Support

 Career Highlights:

Over the past 10 years I have seen many students with disabilities and special needs grow in confidence and independence and I have seen them graduate and become members of the working force (economic contributors) of our country. These students are now giving back to their families, communities and to the country as a whole. Their stories are my career highlights.

How do you lead /advocate for disability inclusive practices:

When lecturers don’t understand or don’t want to accommodate a SwD in their classes then I step in and advocate for those students. When students are unable to access buildings or learning material because its’ inaccessible, then I advocate on their behalf. I do talks and discussion groups on disabilities and how they affect people’s lives to educate and to motivate.
